ALL AMERICAN TAPA TOUR

From left to right: Abby and Tanner (husband and wife team) joined Shannon and Maureen (mum and daughter) as well as Beth (studying in Granada), Elizabeth and Kelly for this evening #tapastour.

Everyone was happy to try anything (more or less!) so making suggestions easy and fun! Food-wise the group sampled “Moorish” cod, sautéed snails, fish, variousmontaditos, pork stew and meatballs.  And Tanner survived the night as the only gent!

WCNEEDLEMAKERS ANNUAL TRIP

Angie and Geoff Lewis (group organisers) came to Andalucia for 7 days with the Needlemakers´ Company, one of the original craft guilds granted livery in 1656 in London (www.needlemakers.org.uk) The organisation for this group involved lunches, dinners, help with official guides, luxury transfer and many, many hours of preparation. Great fun and a very different experience for Granada Tapas Tours.

KLJB GROUP TAPAS TOUR

Anna Lirsch (pictured third left) was the organiser of this group from Bavaria, Germany.  They were part of a youth association called KLJB http://www.kljb-passau.de and decided to have an activity packed day in Granada – visiting the Alhambra in the morning, the white village of Trevélez to see the jamón serrano production and then an evening tapa tour in the city centre.

‘LADIES ON TERRACES’ TAPAS TOUR

Enjoying the pleasant, warm evening meant sitting at bars with terraces. White wine was the choice drink of the night more than red.  The ladies liked a Granada white in particular (#Mencal) then classic #Rueda.  They also triedsangria and “summer wine” too.  The ladies gelled very well: Viv & Pippa were travelling for a week.  Victoria and Beth were staying just outside the city and came back into town later in the week.  Annie and Linda were doing a whirlwind tour of the south after first being in Andalucia over 40 years before.  The tapas on offer tonight were: pork cheek stew, sugar cane honey cod, seafood salad, chorizo n´vegetable sticks, garlic rabbit and béchamel tiger mussels. Yum!

Autumn Sunshine Tapas Tour

French Canadian Alex and his girlfriend joined Amy (who studies in Granada), her mum and aunt (all from the UK) on a lunch time tapa tour. Cava started the ladies off as well as tinto de verano in the sunshine and a rice tapa dish (not to be confused with paella). We then changed to an “old school” bar option, had homemade vermouth and nibbled on healthy lupin beers as the tapas came out. Then while the blue skies lasted we sat out at a fishy place and sampled bacalaílla (similar to little cod fish) and a classic, fried aubergines with sugar cane honey. The last stop was across the square where the group had rosé wine, craft beer and `exploding eggs´ with homemade chorizo balls. Thanks to everyone for participating!

‘BARBAZUL’ TAPA TOUR

A lovely gent from #BodegaHuertadeAlbala (far right) treated Matt, Carolyn, Darby, Paul, Anita and Kevin to a bottle of #Barbazul red.

Tonight´s tapas were: battered cod with honey and sultanas, tempura artichokes, slow-cooked pork casserole and a seafood salad. This evening, #craftbeer was also on the cards: Legado de Yuste (tasty, monastery brew) and Er Boquerón (sea water lager). Great night, great company!

PUTNEY TRAVEL STUDENTS

Trip leaders Tasha & Nicholas from Putney Student Travel came with a group of USA students this summer. They participated in a Graffiti Walk, then a Photographic Treasure Hunt (in 40º heat!) and finishing the day with a Tapa Selection evening in 2 different bars: tortilla de patatas (potato omelette), tuna toasties, vegetable wraps, varied croquettes, fried cod & tomato bites and especially for this group, mini hamburgers.  Hope to see you again next year!
